Loire Wine Tours is based at the beautifully restored and conveniently located Manoir de Gourin and run by husband and wife team Simon Grainger and Karin
Ellison. Simon and Karin have spent a number of years in the Loire valley
meeting the winemakers and tasting their wines. They are impartial and
independent, not affiliated to any one vineyard. They are able to provide
unbiased opinions and advice on the varying quality and vintages of the
wines of the region.They have several years of experience running wine tours
in this region of the Loire valley. At Manoir de Gourin they have the perfect
venue to make your wine tour holiday one to remember - a beautiful house and
gardens for you to enjoy and a fantastic position in the middle of the Anjou and
Saumur vineyards. They are committed to providing you with the best there is to
offer and their guest testimonials are proof of this. Simon's depth of knowledge
is second to none.
A carefully selected team of experts will provide you with a first class
experience of the selection and tasting of the wines. Our sommelier provides the
necessary expertise in pairing wines to match our menus.

Simon is passionate about the local wines and provides in depth knowledge of the history of wine making in the Loire
valley at our introductory talks at the Manoir.
Karin�s passion is food and cooking and she uses home grown and local produce in
the menus for the wine tasting dinners. |

Thierry, our award winning sommelier, Meilleur jeune sommelier du val de Loire
1992 and finaliste du concours Ruinard Londres 1998, is trained in Paris and has
worked for Gordon Ramsay. Thierry currently runs a chic wine shop Atout Vins in Doue
La Fontaine specialising also in whisky and tea. |

Richard is the
winemaker at a prestigious and beautiful chateau vineyard in the Saumur Champigny AOC. He trained at the school of viticulture in Montreuil-Bellay.
Richard enjoys welcoming our guests to the estate and is a natural raconteur
explaining the art of a passionate winemaker. Explore the joys of a truly
